WWE have big plans for Big E’s return to action, it has been revealed.
On the April 21 edition of SmackDown, E’s New Day partner Xavier Woods was unable to defeat GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship. In a backstage video Woods was left wondering what comes next because winning the IC Title is a “once in a career” opportunity for him.
According to WRKD Wrestling, the current plan is for Woods, together with a returning Kofi Kingston and Big E to continue the feud with Gunther and the rest of Imperium. This would then lead to a match between Gunther and Big E.
Kofi Kingston suffered an injury on the March 3 episode of SmackDown that has written him off TV while he recovers.
There is no official word on when either Kingston or Big E are set to return, but it’s interesting to see that Big E has internal plans given that there was concern that following a drop to the back of his neck last year, he might never be able to compete again.
Big E hasn’t competed since suffering a broken neck during a match on SmackDown in March 2022
