WWE is said to be making a considerable change to it’s monthly premium live events, a report from WRKD Wrestling has noted.
This past Monday on Raw, a new World Heavyweight Championship was unveiled, with a brand new World Heavyweight Champion set to be crownded at WWE Night of Champions on Saturday May 27, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Following the inaugural championship match, the new championship will then be defended on whichever brand current WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns is not drafted to.
Both Reigns and the new World Heavyweight Champion will then become exclusive to their respective brands.
WRKDWresyling now reports WWE officials are discussing returning to brand-exclusive premium live events.
“One format discussed after the announcement of the draft and the introduction of the new World Heavyweight championship on #WWERaw is the idea of potential brand exclusive premium live monthly events.”

The company have ran these types of shows before under the old pay-per-view format were PPV’s would alternate between being hosted by Raw or SmackDown. The ‘big four’ PPV’S; SummerSlam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania would be interpromotional events hosted by both brands.
The format was axed in 2018 when WWE launched the WWE Network with the idea of stacking each event with the best talent from both brands to increase WWE Network subscriptions and ticket sales.
