Following Monday’s Raw and the multiple rewrites before and during RAW, there has been a lot of discussion about regarding Vince McMahon’s status for tonight’s SmackDown broadcast in Portland, OR. Despite claims from management that McMahon would not be actively involved in the creative process, the show was the result of several changes from McMahon, some happening as the show was on the air. McMahon’s return to overseeing creative had led some to speculate if he would be in the same position tonight.
As of 4.55pm ET, Vince McMahon is not backstage at the Moda Center, where tonight’s SmackDown is being broadcast from. The news comes from PWTorch’s Wade Keller via Twitter.
It was said that McMahon reviewed creative plans remotely and there were “minor changes” made to the original script, according to PWInsider.com. The backstage morale at SmackDown is reportedly better than it was on Monday.
