It looks like WWE is once again interested in a Japanese legend.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of his Wrestling Observer Newsletter at F4WOnline.com that WWE has been talking internally about possibly trying to sign NJPW legend Kazuchika Okada.
While the U.S. pro wrestling fans have been familiar with “The Rainmaker” for years, his overall international profile has grown after his recent work with All Elite Wrestling.
The pitch for Okada is that he is now a 36 year old veteran who is close with “The King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura, who has been with WWE for years.
Apparently Nakamura’s renewed push in the company has convinced Okada that Japanese wrestlers will not be given the stereotypical children-friendly gimmicks that many have been stuck with when joining WWE in the past.
We will keep you posted here at PWExclusive.com as updates regarding Kazuchika Okada possibly joining WWE continue to surface.
