A new champion will be crowned at NXT Battleground.
Indi Hartwell has relinquished the NXT Women’s Championship. The Australian walked to the ring in crutches. She cut a promo in the main event of NXT wherein she announced her decision to relinquish the title.
Indi said she walked into the WWE Performance Center 330 days ago. She reminisced about the memories she made along the way. Indi said she defended her title with an ankle sprain because she didn’t want to let her title reign end with an injury.
The 26-year-old superstar said she will be headed to RAW next Monday. For those not in the know, Indi was drafted to the red brand as part of the WWE Draft 2023 last Friday on SmackDown.
She said a tournament to crown the new NXT Women’s Champion will begin next week. The new champion will be determined in four weeks at NXT Battleground. Indi left the title inside the ring.
Indi kissed a title and placed it inside the ring. She said she wanted to figure out how to get out of the ring. Dexter Lumis emerged from beneath the squared circle with his signature thumbs up pose. He then carried his on-screen wife to the back. The segment ended with an all-out brawl between the women’s locker room over the vacant championship.
