SmackDown Women’s Champion has replied to an insensitive ‘fan’ comment on Twitter, just days after suffering a family bereavement
Ripley took to Twitter on Saturday to reveal she had lost her grandmother on Thursday. In a heartfelt message coupled with photos of her ‘Nonna’, Ripley commented on how much she was going to miss her and was pleased to see her again as recently as February in what she called the ‘highlight of her year’.
Following the message, Ripley received countless messages of support from fans around the world however one fan decided to take the personal tragedy as an excuse to offer an insensitive comment. Replying direct to Ripley’s message, the user urged her to leave WWE, claiming nobody likes her. The tweet was soon deleted by the user but not before Ripley was able to offer a reply of her own.
“People like this make me regret leaving everyone I love behind. I’ve missed years without people I love to entertain and live my dream. You are a fucking disgusting human and don’t deserve me, but here I am doing my job. Realize what’s TV and what’s real life.I deserve better.”

There is a line between on-screen personas and real life. Please remember this when using social media to contact your favourite wrestlers. They are people too and deserve respect.
The PWExclusive Team would like to offer their condolences to Rhea and her family during this time.
